Media Query Engine Reference (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

1/5/2010

The media query engine API allows you to use the Media Query Engine from your own applications.

The media query engine communicates with a UPnP-based media server and accesses metadata for media stored on that server. By working with this metadata, a networked media device can use the media query engine to access media data via HTTP and then play back the contents.

The media query engine can support multiple media servers. The media query engine enables applications to enumerate the available servers and select one of them to be the source of media content.

The media query engine uses events to provide information about changes in network status, device authorization, and server status back to the application.

The following topics provide reference information for the media query engine.
