Tools for Debugging (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

1/5/2010

You can use a variety of tools included in Windows Embedded CE to debug and test a Windows Embedded CE–based device.

In This Section

  • System Debugging Tools
Connects to the collection of Platform Builder system debugging tools, such as the kernel debugger, the command-line options available from Target Control, and Hardware-Assisted Debugging that enables you debug in situations when the kernel debugger is not available.
  • Core Connectivity
Introduces the infrastructure for kernel connectivity between a development workstation and a target device.
  • Device Emulator
Describes how to build and use the Device Emulator, which gives you a virtual hardware platform by emulating a target device.
  • Error Reporting
Describes the technologies that allow you to capture key information about the state of a device at the time of a program crash.
  • Windows Embedded CE Test Kit
Describes the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Test Kit (CETK), which is a tool that you can use to test the functionality and performance of device drivers and related hardware on a Windows Embedded CE–based device.
  • Tools for Performance Tuning
Describes the collection of tools you can use for logging, profiling and tracking your system to improve system performance.
  • Remote Tools
Describes the collection of tools that help you perform a wide variety of diagnostic tasks on a target device from a desktop workstation.
