ActiveSync Desktop Pass-through (DTPT) (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)
1/6/2010
ActiveSync Desktop Pass-through (DTPT) is a technology that enables a Windows Embedded CE-based device to transparently access external networks such as the Internet, through the desktop computer to which it is connected. By default, DTPT is enabled when the device is connected to the desktop running ActiveSync.
Note
DTPT replaces the previous method of connecting using an emulated serial port over USB. In Windows Embedded CE 5.0 and later, Windows Embedded CE-based devices must use ActiveSync 4.0 or later with DTPT.
