GetCodecDescription (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

This method retrieves the descriptive name of the given codec.

Compatibility: Windows Media Player

Syntax

sRetVal = MediaPlayer.GetCodecDescription(
    sCodecNum
)

Parameters

  • sCodecNum
    [in] Long value indicating the codec number.

Return Value

Returns a String containing the descriptive name of the given codec.

This method returns a null string if the codec specified by the sCodecNum parameter is not found.

Remarks

The codec numbers start with 1.

You will get an error if you use 0.

Typically, the codec number is 1 for audio and 2 for video.

Valid values for codec numbers range from 1 to the value of the CodecCount property.
