IXRPopup::GetChild (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

1/6/2010

This method retrieves the content to be hosted in the pop-up window.

Syntax

virtual HRESULT STDMETHODCALLTYPE GetChild(
    __out IXRUIElement **ppChild
) = 0;

Parameters

  • ppChild
    [out] Pointer to a pointer that on return will point to the IXRUIElement that is the child of this IXRPopup object.

Return Values

Returns a standard HRESULT value.

Remarks

The Child property can be any single IXRUIElement. In order to host multiple items, create an IXRUserControl or host the content in a container, such as IXRStackPanel or IXRGrid. A pop-up window will always appear over existing content that includes other pop-up controls.

To use a specific interface pointer type, you can use the helper template version of this method, which Silverlight for Windows Embedded provides. When you supply a derived type, this version automatically supplies a type-safe method that implicitly converts the returned type from a generic interface so you do not have to explicitly call QueryInterface to convert the generic interface into the required object type. For more information, see Type-Safety in Silverlight for Windows Embedded.
