This message retrieves the text of a button in a toolbar.

Syntax

TB_GETBUTTONTEXT wParam = (WPARAM) idButton; 
    lParam = (LPARAM)(LPSTR) lpszText;

Parameters

  • idButton
    Command identifier of the button for which to retrieve text.
  • lpszText
    Long pointer to a buffer that receives the button text.

Return Value

The length - in characters and not including the terminating null character - of the string copied to the specified buffer indicates success. -1 indicates failure.
