Add Drivers Using Image Builder Wizard (Standard 7 SP1)
7/8/2014
You use Image Builder Wizard to determine the hardware that is present on a target device so that you can identify and map the necessary drivers for that device. Then you can include support for the hardware on your target device by including these drivers in the image you are developing.
You can also use Tap.exe to create a .pmq file that contains a list of drivers to include in the image. For more information about Tap.exe, see Tap Command-Line Options.
On the Target Analysis page of Image Builder Wizard, you can choose whether you want to include drivers in your installation. If you decide to include drivers, Image Builder Wizard also lets you choose which drivers to include. You can map these drivers from a .pmq file, or you can map them by using Image Builder Wizard after it completes target analysis on the local device.
To prevent Image Builder Wizard from adding any drivers to the installation, select Do not automatically map drivers to devices.
To include a preselected set of drivers in the installation, select Choose a .pmq file and provide a .pmq file that contains a previously captured list of hardware.
To find out which drivers were detected by Image Builder Wizard, choose Show Devices Discovered.
Note
The EmbeddedCoreDrivers .mum file does not have a reference to the hardware IDs of the Standard 7 Service Pack 1 version of one CD-ROM driver and one USB port driver. These new hardware devices do no show up when you automatically map the target device by using Image Builder Wizard but they will install as expected during the installation of your device’s operating system if the hardware is present.
