FBWF Interoperability with Windows 7 Features (Standard 7 SP1)

FBWF changes the following Windows 7 settings:

  • Changes the boot loader settings to ignore improper shutdown checks. For more information, see BootStatusPolicy.
  • Turns off search indexing. For more information, see Windows Search.
  • Disables Prefetch. For more information, see Disable Prefetch.

Warning

Write filters and Windows Media Center do not operate well together as Media center performs a lot of disk IO and fills up the EWF or FBWF cache.
