Learn about Windows Embedded Compact 7 support for audio, media, and graphics features.
Introduction
Windows Embedded Compact 7 provides a set of Audio and Media features that support encoded multimedia data such as Windows Media Audio, Windows Media Video, DVD-Video, MP3, and MPEG-1.
The graphics features provide levels of performance beyond that of the Graphics Device Interface (GDI) by providing low-level access to audio and video hardware in a device-independent manner.
For a list of media formats supported by Compact 7, see Encoded Media Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables.
