Deploy an Image Built with Image Builder Wizard to an SD Card (Standard 7 SP1)

7/8/2014

New for Windows Embedded Standard Service Pack 1: Follow the steps in this topic to use Windows Embedded Standard 7 Service Pack 1 to deploy an image to a SD card by using Image Builder Wizard.

Deploy an image from Image Builder Wizard to an SD Card

  1. Make sure that the SD card you want to install to is plugged into the device that is currently running Image Builder Wizard. Also, make sure that there are no files on the SD card because they may be lost during installation.

    Note

The Standard 7 setup process performs several verifications, which rely on the target device's date and time settings. For optimal performance, confirm that the target device is set to the correct date and time.

  2. Run Image Builder Wizard from the Standard 7 Service Pack 1 DVD. On the Please select Feature Packages to include in your image page, do the following:

    1. Under Embedded Enabling Features, select SD Boot.
    2. Add any additional packages you want to include.
    3. Click the Resolve button and resolve all dependency issues.
    4. Continue resolving dependencies until finished.
  3. On the destination drive selection screen, select the SD card target. Partition and format the SD card, then continue the installation process.

  4. Allow Setup to complete.

If this SD card will be deployed to another destination device, see Run Sysprep on an Image.
