Configuration Items
5/4/2012
You can use Device Manager 2011 configuration items to configure devices. A configuration item is a device setting that you change when you configure the device. You can create new configuration items by using the New Configuration Item Wizard in the Configuration Manager console.
Configuration items are grouped into configuration item types based on the type of device configuration settings that they represent. Supported device types are thin client, point of service (POS), digital signage, and kiosk. You can change one or more configuration items within a configuration item type.
The following is a list of configuration item types in the Configuration Manager console:
- Internet Explorer settings
- Password Settings
- RDP Connection Settings
- Registry Settings
- VPN Settings
- WiFi Settings
Each configuration item type contains sub-types. The following table shows configuration item types and the sub-types for each of these types.
