Search for a Key or Entry in the Registry (Compact 7)

You can search for a registry key or entry on a Windows Embedded Compact powered device by using the Remote Registry Editor.

To search for a registry key or entry

  1. In the left pane of the Remote Tools Shell window, click the Registry node for your device.

  2. On the Registry Editor menu, click Search.

  3. In the Search Registry window, in the Keyword box, enter a keyword.

  4. Under Search Criteria, select the following criteria types that are appropriate for your search.

    • Keys
    • Values (Name)
    • Data (REG_SZ, REG_MULTISZ)
    • Match whole string only
  5. Click Search. To halt a search, click Stop.

Search results appear in the Search Registry window under Key and Value.
