Copy the Name of a Registry Key (Compact 7)

You can copy a registry key name on a Windows Embedded Compact powered device by using the Remote Registry Editor.

To copy a registry key name

  1. In the left pane of the Remote Tools Shell window, click the Registry node for your device.

  2. In the middle pane of the Remote Tools Shell window, expand a registry node and click a registry key name to copy.

  3. In the Remote Tools Shell window, on the Edit menu, click Copy.

  4. In the registry tree, select the item in the tree that is above the location where you want to insert a copy of the name of the registry key.

  5. On the Registry Editor menu, point to New, and then click Key.

  6. In the Create Key dialog box, in the Key Name box, right-click, and then click Paste.

  7. Click Create.

The copied registry key name appears as a new registry key in the Remote Tools Shell window.
