DHCPv6 Configurable Registry Settings

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol for IP version 6 (DHCPv6) is a client/server protocol that automatically provides an Internet Protocol (IP) host with its IP address and other related information, such as the subnet mask and default gateway. Windows Embedded Compact 2013 provides a DHCPv6 client that you can enable or disable by setting the following value. This entry is located under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Tcpip6\Parms subkey.

Boolean value that indicates whether the DHCPv6 client is enabled.

  • 1 = The DHCPv6 client is enabled.
  • 0 = The DHCPv6 client is disabled.

You can configure additional DHCPv6 client settings through the IPv6 int command-line tool, such as whether the DHCPv6 client should attempt to obtain a stateful address or DNS server information from a DHCPv6 server.
