Extensible Storage Engine (ESE) (Standard 8 Module Reference)
7/8/2014
Review the settings, dependencies and any notes for the Extensible Storage Engine (ESE) module in the Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8) module catalog.
This module provides Extensible Storage Engine (ESE) that is an advanced indexed and sequential access method (ISAM) storage technology. To support higher performance and better integration with disaster recovery systems, the ESE includes an application programming interface (API) for backup and restore.
ESE enables applications to store and retrieve data from tables by using indexed or sequential cursor navigation. It supports denormalized schemas with wide tables that have numerous sparse or multivalued columns, and sparse and rich indexes. It uses transacted data update and retrieval so that applications have a consistent data state, and provides a crash recovery mechanism to maintain data consistency in case of unexpected shut down.
