Activate a Device Using Telephone Activation (Standard 8)
7/8/2014
Learn how to activate your Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8) device by using telephone activation.
If your device is not connected to the Internet or you do not want to connect your device to the Internet either directly or via a proxy connection from a private network, you will need to use telephone activation and the Windows Licensing Manager script (SLMGR). If your device is connected to the Internet, but you still want to use telephone activation, you can use either SLMGR or the Windows Activation Client (SLUI).
Telephone activation involves calling a Microsoft Product Activation Center, providing your information and your 63-digit Installation ID, and then using either SLMGR or SLUI to complete the activation with the confirmation ID provided by the Microsoft Product Activation Center.
