Object/Task Selector Pages
The Object/Task Selector page is created with the Object/Task Selector control display. An object/task selector page displays a list of objects and a list of tasks. It will launch a task that requires a selection of an object. Examples of this include the actions on users, groups, disks, and volumes.
The Object/Task Selector can include navigation buttons that allow users to maneuver through very large tables. The following illustration shows an Object/Task Selector that incorporates navigation buttons.
The Object/Task Selector can include a drop-down list and a search field which allows users to select one of the visible columns and then type in a search string. This capability enables subsetting of the table data, which is very useful for large data sets.
The Object/Task Selector can allow the user to choose a column heading to change the sort order. It also allows the user to select more than one item. Tasks are enabled or disabled based on user's actions.
The following illustration shows an Object/Task Selector that incorporates these features.
