Loading an Administrative Web Page on a Gateway
OEMs are responsible for providing a user interface (UI) that allows users to configure the registry keys that define mappings between the names of devices on the network and IP addresses. Windows CE includes a sample configuration Web page that shows OEMs an example of how to configure these settings and provide a UI that allows the user to change these settings. OEMs should determine whether or not a Web page in an appropriate UI for their product. If so, OEMs should develop their own administrative Web pages, using this sample as a guide, and include the pages on the gateway device. The following list shows alternative ways to configure these setting:
- Providing control panel application if the device has a display and a GUI.
- Preconfiguring these settings if you do not intend for the user to configure the settings.
- Providing another mechanism for setting the required registry values and reloading the components that use these settings.
You can use the samples included with Windows CE regardless of the option that you choose.
To load the sample administrative Web page on a gateway device
- Include the Windows CE Web Server on the gateway device.
- Include the Remote Administration Utility Sample when you build the OS image for the gateway device.
