Creating a New Project

If you have opened or created a platform, you can create new projects to add to your platform. These projects can be applications, dynamic-link libraries (DLLs), static libraries, and transport layers.

To create a new project

  1. Choose New ProjectorFile from the File menu.

  2. Choose the Projects tab in the New Project or File dialog box.

The Projects tab is not displayed unless a workspace is already open.

  3. Select a type of project from the workspace area.

  4. Type your project name in the Project Name field.

  5. If desired, type a new location for your project files, or select a directory using the Browse button, and then choose OK.

By default, the files are located in a subdirectory of the platform directory.

The Project Wizard appears. The options provided by the Project Wizard vary depending on the type of project you selected.

  6. Select the type of project foundation you want to create.

Once you have completed creating the project in your workspace, you can customize it later.

  7. Choose Finish.

  8. Choose the FileView tab on the Workspace window and select the ReadMe.txt file to learn more about the files created by the Project Wizard.

The new project that you created becomes the active project in the workspace.
