Running the test

Before you run the test, complete the test setup as described in the test requirements: Mouse or other Pointing Device Testing Prerequisites.

  1. Start the test. Wait at least 10 seconds (there is a timer in the top right corner of the screen for reference).

  2. Swipe in horizontally from the edge specified by the instructions on the screen.

    • Your swipe should start off the edge of the touchpad, and swipe inwards (keeping your fingertip flush with the device) toward the center of the touchpad at 200 mm/s. When you reach 10-20mm past the edge of the touchpad, lift your contact.

      • The tool will automatically pass/fail the iteration if the requirement is met.
  3. Repeat step 2 for a total of 20 iterations (10 on left edge and 10 on right).

Troubleshooting

For troubleshooting information, see Troubleshooting Device.Input Testing.

If you see error “[14] packet too far from edge: ###”, ensure that the swipe starts at the edge (or before it) and you are swiping from the appropriate edge, as specified by the test.
