Deleting a Job

To delete a job from DTM, complete the following steps. After you delete a job, the job will not appear in Job Monitor, and the job's results will not appear in Results Explorer.

  1. Determine the status of the job, and then cancel the job if it is still executing.

    Note   You can determine if a job is still executing by examining the icon in the first column of the Job Execution Status pane. If the icon consists of two blue arrows (), then the job is still executing.

    1. Switch to the Job Monitor window.

      You can also open a new Job Monitor window by clicking Explorers, and then clicking Job Monitor.

    2. Select your DTM controller from the drop-down box in the upper left of the Job Monitor window.

    3. In the Machine Pool tab of the Job Monitor window, expand the machine pool hierarchy, and then select the machine pool that contains the client computer that the job executed on or is executing on.

      A list of jobs that are executing on client computers in the machine pool appears in the Job Execution Status pane.

    4. If the job is still executing, right-click the job and select Cancel.

  2. Delete the result collection.

    1. Switch to the Result Collection window.

      You can also open a new Result Collection window by clicking Explorers, and then clicking Result Collection.

    2. In the upper left of the Result Collection window, select your DTM controller from the drop-down box.

    3. In the Result Collection pane, right-click the result collection for your job, and then select Delete.

      Each result collection is named user_computer_ResultCollectiondate where:

      User is the user name of the person who scheduled the job.

      Computer is the name of the client computer on which the job executed.

      Date is the date and time that the job started executing.

    4. Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the result collection.

  3. Delete the individual results.

    1. Switch to the Result Explorer window.

      You can also open a new Result Explorer window by clicking Explorers, and then clicking Result Explorer.

    2. In the upper left of the Result Explorer window, select your DTM controller from the drop-down box.

    3. In the left pane of the Result Explorer window, on either the Feature or Category tab, locate your job feature or job category that contains your job.

    4. In the Results pane, right-click the results for your job, and then click Delete.

    5. Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the result.

  4. Delete the job.

    1. Switch to the Job Monitor window.

      You can also open a new Job Monitor window by clicking Explorers, and then clicking Job Monitor.

    2. In the upper left of the Job Monitor window, select your DTM controller from the drop-down box.

    3. In the Machine Pool tab in the left pane of the Job Monitor window, expand the machine pool hierarchy, and then select the machine pool that contains the client computer on which the job executed or is in the process of executing.

      A list of jobs that are executing on client computers in the machine pool appears in the Job Execution Status pane.

    4. Right-click the job that you want to delete in the Job Execution Status pane, and then select Delete.

    5. Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the job.

      Note   The confirmation message will ask if you want to delete the result, not the job. Clicking Yes will delete the job, in addition to any of its job results.
