Use the Resultant Set of Policy Snap-in

If you are a corporate administrator, once you have deployed the package that you created with the Windows® Internet Explorer® Customization Wizard 8, you can use the Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) snap-in to view the policy settings that you created. If you make further changes using IEAK Profile Manager, you can also use RSoP to view these changes. For complete instructions for using RSoP, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=68958.

Using the RSoP snap-in is a two-step process. First, you run the Resultant Set of Policy wizard to indicate what information you want to view. Then, you open the items in the console window that contain the settings you want to view.

To add the Resultant Set of Policy snap-in

  1. Click Start, click Run, and then type mmc.

  2. Click File, and then click Add/Remove Snap-in.

  3. On the Standalone tab, click Add.

  4. Under Available Standalone Snap-ins, click Resultant Set of Policy, and then click Add.

To use Resultant Set of Policy to review Internet Explorer settings

  1. In Resultant Set of Policy, double-click User Configuration.

    Note

If this is the first time you have used this snap-in, you will be asked to run the Resultant Set of Policy Wizard first.

  2. Double-click Windows Settings, and then click Internet Explorer Maintenance.

  3. In the left pane, click the feature area you want to review, and then in the right pane, double-click the item you want to review.
