Description
Stores special instructions for startup. Windows 2000 receives these instructions from the firmware (ROM) in RISC-based systems and from Boot.ini in x 86 computers.
For example, if you select the video graphics adapter (VGA) option at startup, the value of SystemStartOptions is BASEVIDEO SOS. BASEVIDEO is the VGA mode for display drivers. SOS directs the system to display each driver as it loads during startup, rather than displaying a series of dots.
Note
If you change the value of this entry by using a registry editor, the value specified in Boot.ini will overwrite your changes the next time the computer starts.
