Deploy an Application Compatibility Database by Using SDBInst
Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2
To deploy an application compatibility database across multiple computers, you can use a system management solution, such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007, to deliver the database to multiple computers and then use the SDBInst.exe command-line tool to install the database. The SDBInst command-line tool is included in Windows 7 and is located in the %SystemDrive%\Windows\System32 folder.
Alternately, you can copy the application compatibility database to a network location and run a logon script that includes SDBInst on each computer, specifying the UNC path of the file.
To run SDBInst from the command line or from a script, use the following command:
SDBInst \\<Path to .sdb file>\<FileName>.sdb
