Configure the HPC Job Scheduler Service
Applies To: Windows HPC Server 2008
The HPC Job Scheduler Service queues jobs and tasks, allocates resources, dispatches tasks to the compute nodes, and monitors the status of jobs, tasks, and nodes.
Scheduling policies determine the order in which to run jobs from the queue. When you configure the HPC Job Scheduler Service, you can set scheduling policy (such as preemption and backfilling), error handling, and job history options. You can also specify custom job activation and submission filter programs. For more information, see Understanding Activation and Submission Filters.
The Job Scheduler Configuration dialog box describes the scheduling options. For more information about Scheduling Policies, see Understanding Job Scheduling Policies.
For information about using HPC Cluster Manager, see Overview of HPC Cluster Manager.
To configure the HPC Job Scheduler Service
From the Options menu, click Job Scheduler Configuration.
Use the Job Scheduler Configuration dialog box to set the scheduling options.
When you are done, click Apply to save your changes, or click OK to save and exit the dialog box.
