Change the icon associated with the shortcut to a connection file
Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2
To change the icon associated with the shortcut to a connection file
Create a connection file (.rdp file), or use an existing .rdp file.
Open Windows Explorer and create a shortcut to the .rdp file.
Right-click the shortcut, click Properties, and then click Change Icon.
Select an icon in the list on the Change Icon dialog box, and then click OK.
Click OK to close the Shortcut Properties dialog box.
Deploy the .rdp file and the shortcut to the appropriate users.
Notes
You might also have to deploy the icon (.ico) file, if it is not available on the users' computers.
The default connection file, Default.rdp, is stored as a hidden file in My Documents. Connection files that you create are also stored in My Documents, but they are not hidden.
