REG_SZ |
Symbol or character |
: (colon) |

Change Method
To change the value of this entry, in Control Panel double-click Regional and Language Options, click the Regional Options tab, and then click the Customize... button. Next, click the Time tab, and then select a character from the Time separator list. Click OK.
Activation Method
Changes made in Regional and Language Options are effective immediately.
Note
- Regional and Language Options in Control Panel links the sTime and sTimeFormat entries. This ensures that the time separator and the time format are synchronized. For example,
sTime | sTimeFormat | Meaning |
---|---|---|
: |
h:mm:ss tt |
8:20:00 AM |
Setting sTime and sTimeFormat independently in the registry can result in conflicting values. To repair these settings, use Regional Options in Control Panel.
Setting only one value in the registry might not change the time as it appears in applications, because an application can read either sTime or sTimeFormat.
