To start Fax Service Manager, click the Start menu, point to Accessories, then point to Communications, then point to Fax, and then select Fax Service Manager. You can also access Fax Service Manager in the Computer Management console.

To change the value of this entry by using Computer Management, open Computer Management. In the console tree, expand Services and Applications, then expand Fax, then expand Devices and Providers, then expand Devices, and then click the name of the fax device for which you want to set the CSID. From the Action menu, click Properties, and then click the General tab. Next, check Receive faxes if it is not already checked, and then type the CSID in the Called Subscriber ID (CSID) box. Click OK.

Note

  • When receiving a fax transmission, the Fax Service sends the CSID to the sender to identify the receiver. A CSID usually consists of the telephone number of the receiving fax device and a name. The CSID is limited to 20 characters.
