Event ID 44 — NPS Local Log File Status
Applies To: Windows Server 2008

Resolve
Create more disk space
To perform this procedure, you must be a member of Domain Admins.
To create more disk space:
- Open Command Prompt, type diskmgmt.msc, and then press ENTER. The Disk Management Microsoft Management Console (MMC) opens.
- In the Disk Management MMC, check the capacity and free space of the hard drive where the NPS accounting logs are stored. The default log file location is %Systemroot%\system32\LogFiles.
- If the drive is out of space, open Windows Explorer, browse to the drive where the NPS accounting logs are stored, and delete files to free up disk space.
Verify
To verify that there is free disk space:
- Open Command Prompt, type diskmgmt.msc, and then press ENTER. The Disk Management MMC opens.
- In the Disk Management MMC, check the capacity and free space of the hard drive where the NPS accounting logs are stored. The default log file location is %Systemroot%\system32\LogFiles. Ten to fifteen percent of the drive's capacity should be free.
- Open Windows Explorer, browse to the drive where the NPS accounting logs are stored, and confirm that the NPS log file is there.
