Enable aging and scavenging on two Windows Server 2008–based domain controllers running Domain Name System (DNS) Server service.

Note
We recommend that you complete this step for any forest root domain controller with the DNS Server service installed.

Enable Aging and Scavenging for DNS

Configure the DNS Client service settings for the first domain controller that you installed and for all other domain controllers that you installed.

Note

This step is optional, if you installed the DNS service when you ran the Active Directory Domain Services Installation Wizard (Dcpromo.exe).

Configure DNS Client Service Settings on the First and Subsequent Domain Controllers

Update the DNS delegation for the forest root domain on a DNS server that is authoritative for the parent zone.
