Enable or disable the global query block list

You can use this procedure to enable or disable the global query block list on the Domain Name System (DNS) server. For more information about the global query block list, see Managing the Global Query Block List.
Membership in Administrators, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).
To enable or disable the global query block list
Open a command prompt. To open an elevated Command Prompt window, click Start, point to All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
dnscmd [<ServerName>] /config /enableglobalqueryblocklist 0|1

Specifies whether to enable or disable the global query block list. If you want the DNS Server service to ignore queries for the names in the block list, you set the value of the command to 1. If you want to disable the global query block list, you set the value to 0. |
Additional considerations
To determine whether the global query block list is enabled, type the following command at a command prompt:
dnscmd <ServerName> /info /enableglobalqueryblocklist
If the command returns a value of 1, the global query block list is enabled. If the command returns a value of 0, the global query block list is not enabled.
