Publish NAP Certificate Templates

Applies To: Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2

After you create a health certificate template, it must be published so that the NAP certification authority (CA) can issue certificates to NAP client computers.

Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

  2. In the console tree, right-click Certificate Templates, point to New, and then click Certificate Template to Issue.

  3. Click System Health Authentication, and then click OK.

  4. In the console tree, click Certificate Templates, and in the details pane, under Name, verify that System Health Authentication is displayed.

  5. If you created an anonymous certificate template, repeat steps 2-4 for this template.
