Checklist: Install, Configure, and Get Started With a Fax Server

On a computer running Windows Server 2008, you can use the Fax Server role, Fax Service Manager, and other tools to build, configure, and manage a fax server, and also to control users' access to that server.

Install the Fax Server role to install Fax Service Manager, the Fax service, and the Fax printer. As part of this process, determine if you want to enable all users to access and route incoming messages, or if only members of the Routing Assistants group will be able to route messages. |

Additional considerations
To install Fax components, you must be a member of the Administrators group or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.
