Event ID 10006 — Application or Service Shutdown Status

Restart Manager attempts to shut down all applications and services that are using resources needed by an installation or upgrade program. If any of these attempts to shut down an application or service fail, a restart might be required to complete the installation or upgrade.

Resolve
A restart might be required
A system restart might be required for the newly installed or updated program to function correctly. Restart Manager will attempt to resolve the issue the next time it runs.
Verify
Restart Manager is used by installation and update programs. To verify that the shutdown process was successful, review the Event Log after a system restart or after the completion of the installatin or upgrade process. If no further events are logged, the issue has been resolved.
