Move a Group
Applies To: Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012

To move a group using Active Directory Administrative Center
To open Active Directory Administrative Center, click Start , click Administrative Tools , and then click Active Directory Administrative Center .
To open Active Directory Users and Computers in Windows ServerĀ® 2012, click Start , type dsac.exe .
In the navigation pane, select the node that contains the group that you want to move.
In the management list, right-click the group that you want to move, and then click Move .
In the Move dialog box, use the column explorer to navigate to and select the folder to which you want to move the group, and then click OK .
Additional considerations
You cannot use Active Directory Administrative Center to move groups between domains. To move groups between domains, use the Active Directory Migration Tool (ADMT). You can also perform the task in this procedure by using the Active Directory module for Windows PowerShell. To open the Active Directory module for Windows PowerShell in Windows Server 2012, open Server Manager , click Tools and then click Active Directory Module for Windows PowerShell .
