Share the fax printer on the network

If the Fax service is installed and configured correctly, the fax printer is already shared on the network. If you need to manually share the fax printer on your network, complete the following procedure.


You must be a network administrator to complete this procedure.

To share the fax printer on the network

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Printers.

  2. Right-click the Fax icon, click Run as administrator, and then click Sharing.

  3. Select the Share this printer check box, in the Share name text box accept or type Fax, and then click OK.
