Combine two homegroups
Applies To: Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials
If you belong to a homegroup on one network and then you connect to a second network that has an existing homegroup, you will be prompted to join the existing homegroup. Joining an existing homegroup combines the two homegroups into a single homegroup that includes everyone in the two original homegroups. Combining homegroups does not change what users are sharing. It also does not change established access to homegroup resources.
To combine two homegroups
- When you are prompted to join an existing homegroup, type the password of the homegroup that you are joining, and then click Next.
