Copying Your Target System Directly to Your Target Hardware

You can copy your target system directly to a hard disk drive, flash disk, or other storage device on your target hardware.

Copy the target system directly to your target hardware

  1. If not done, create a Windows NT boot partition on the storage device on your target hardware.
  2. Remove the storage device from your target hardware and attach it to your development system.
  3. Copy your target system from the target path to the storage device.
  4. Reattach the storage device to the target hardware, and boot your embedded system.

Note   You can install your target system directly on target media that has been formatted by using WinDisk or the Windows NT format utility.

If you install your target system directly on the target media, you must install it in the c:\ directory to resolve registry entries.
