Working with the Built-In Email UI

Applies To: Windows Server 2012 Essentials

Windows Server Essentials provides a set of built-in UIs for hosted email integration. When you install a custom email adapter, these UI’s are activated by default, and automatically hook into the administration interface of your adapter. These UIs offer standard and familiar integration experiences across different custom add-ins to Windows Server Essentials administrators. The following topics describe the extensions to the current UI that you can use to hook into your own hosted email solutions.

Warning

All of the UI’s in the following topics are activated by default. However, you can choose to deactivate these specific UI, if your solution does not use the features they expose. For more information, see How to: Disable the Built-In UI.
