Marshal.PtrToStringUni Method (IntPtr, Int32)

This type can be used only by trusted applications. If you try to use its members in a partial-trust application, your code will throw a MethodAccessException exception. This type is security-critical, which restricts its use.

Copies a specified number of characters from a Unicode string stored in native heap to a managed String.

Parameters

  • ptr
    Type: System.IntPtr
    The address of the first character of the unmanaged string.
  • len
    Type: System.Int32
    The number of Unicode characters to copy.

Return Value

Type: System.String
A managed string that holds a copy of the native string if the value of the ptr parameter is not nulla null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic); otherwise, this method returns nulla null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).
