Azure AI Content Understanding is a cutting-edge generative AI-powered service, designed to process and ingest diverse types of content, including documents, images, videos, and audio, and transform them into user-defined output formats. With the introduction of the 2025-05-01-preview release, the service now offers two operational modes: standard and pro. By default, all analyzers operate in the standard mode.
The pro mode in Azure AI Content Understanding enhances functionality by incorporating advanced reasoning capabilities, support for ingesting and processing multiple input documents simultaneously, and the ability to configure external knowledge bases for linking, enrichment, and validation. These features streamline intricate workflows by extending field extraction capabilities to address scenarios traditionally requiring custom code or manual intervention.
