Enable Sync with Insights for Education Leaders
Important
If you are currently using School Data Sync (Classic) you need to plan for your transition to the new SDS experience to utilize the feature.
Set up SDS for Microsoft 365 Education Tenant
- Microsoft 365 Education tenant
- Need Global Administrator Permissions
- Set up your Inbound data flow in SDS:
- Review the results of your Inbound flow run in SDS to determine data health:
If needed, fix any errors and warnings identified in the source system and wait for the next run to complete.
Step 3: Enable Sync with Insights for Education Leaders (see following steps)
Enabling Sync with Insights for Education Leaders
On the Home page, under Top actions, select Enable Sync with Insights for Education Leaders. You'll see a fly-out window.
Toggle the Turn on Sync with Insights for Education Leaders to ‘On’.
Select Save preferences.
Once Sync with Insights for Education Leaders request is acknowledged, you'll see a confirmation.
Note
Wait for the next run complete before you'll be able to see your data available in Insights for Education Leaders experiences.
Select the ‘X’ on the top of the fly-out to close and return to the Home page.
You'll notice a new card under the Microsoft 365 Services section titled ‘Insights for Education Leaders'.
Disabling Sync with Insights for Education Leaders
On the Home page, under Microsoft 365 Services section, on the card titled ‘Microsoft 365 Services Management actions’ select the'Insights for Education Leaders' button. You'll see a fly-out window.
Toggle the Turn off Sync with Insights for Education Leaders to ‘Off’.
Select Delete preferences.
Once Sync to Insights for Education Leaders request is acknowledged, you'll see a confirmation.
Select the ‘X’ on the top of the fly-out to close and return to the Home page.
You'll notice the card under the Microsoft 365 Services section titled ‘Insights for Education Leaders’ is no longer shown.
Note
You'll see the Top action card appear again once the services are no longer enabled.
