Device Configuration

A device configuration is a collection of settings used to manage Skype for Business Phone Edition devices, either globally or within a site. These settings enable you to configure such things as the required security mode, device logging level, Voice Quality of Service (QoS) settings, and whether or not phones should automatically lock after a specified period of inactivity.

Tasks you can perform

You can perform the following tasks on the Device Configuration page:

  • Add a device configuration globally or for a particular site.

  • Modify the options for an existing device configuration.

UI Reference

The following lists describe the menus, commands, fields, and properties on the page.

  • New You can add a new device configuration with the following scope:

    • Global

    • Site

  • Edit You can change the options of a device configuration in the list. Using this option, you can do the following:

    • Show details This option opens a dialog box in which you can change the options for a device configuration.

    • Select All This option selects all device configurations in the list.

    • Delete This option deletes all selected device configurations.

  • Refresh You can refresh the device configuration list to verify the status of the options of all device configurations.
