Overview of Stream Playlists

Microsoft 365 Playlists feature is built on top of Microsoft Lists template. It's backed by Stream on SharePoint. Now, you can group your video and audio files into a playlist for easy organization, sharing, and playback.

Scenarios

Stream playlists are currently used for the following surfaces:

  • An ongoing series of videos where viewers would want to find the latest content easily. for example, Monthly leadership updates, events etc.

  • A logical grouping of media content based on a common theme, purpose etc. This can be used as a personal artifact or for sharing with a wider audience. E.g., Learning and training content, Watchlist etc.

  • Creating and broadcasting podcasts/vodcasts.
