What do I need to know about 3rd Party Login? (Teacher Support)

Q: I have an existing TakeLessons account, can I change my login to be a 3rd Party Login?

A: No. Currently, only new customers can use a 3rd Party Login for new accounts.

Q: Can I change my email address within my account if I set up 3rd Party Login?

A: Yes, but it won’t affect login information. This will only affect where you receive your notifications.

Q: Am I able to change my password if I set up 3rd Party Login?

A: No. The password used is the password you used on Google or Microsoft, depending on what you used to sign in.

Please note: You can change your password from the 3rd party site but not via TakeLessons.

Q: Can I change from 3rd Party Login to an email address and password at a later date?

A: Yes. Contact support to do so.

Q: If I forgot my password and signed in with 3rd Party Login – do I reset my password with Google and/or Microsoft or TakeLessons?

A: The password would need to be reset via Google or Microsoft, depending on what you used to sign in. The password cannot be reset via TakeLessons.

Q: What if my password changes in Google or Microsoft? Will signing in on TakeLessons be affected?

A: No, if you can login with your new password, it will not affect logging into TakeLessons.

Q: If I contact TakeLessons, can they change my username and/or reset my password?

A: If you are using a TakeLessons email and password, that can be changed.

Q: If I signed in with Google or Microsoft and clicked “forgot password” -- what happens?

A: We cannot reset your Google or Microsoft password. If you cannot access your account, please contact support.
