Introducing Learn TV and Continued Investments in Microsoft Learn
This post was written by Jeff Sandquist, Corporate Vice President, Developer Relations.
This week at Microsoft Build 2020, we are excited to announce several new digital experiences that empower our customers to achieve more, with the preview release of Learn TV, GA release of Microsoft Q&A, and Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors.
Learn TV
Learn TV is a new content experience offering daily live, pre-recorded, and on-demand video programming for developers and engineers within the Microsoft Learn platform. Today Microsoft Learn offers hundreds of free self-paced learning modules and Learn TV expands on this to bring together live streams, shows, and instructional videos from Microsoft Cloud Advocates, Product Group leaders, and communities, making the Learn platform a one-stop shop to learn and grow.
Learn TV will be a single aggregation point of technical video content and will bring together live and on-demand content across Microsoft properties such as Channel 9 and first party events and hackathons, with casual developer conversations and instructor-led sessions from advocates and engineers.
Q&A
For over 10 years the MSDN and TechNet Forums played a key part in enabling our customers to unblock their business scenarios by offering a platform where technical questions could be answered by Microsoft and the community. Last October we launched our preview of Q&A with support for 11 services and have been hard at work improving this community based on your feedback and support. This week we are excited to share that Microsoft Q&A has graduated to General Availability (GA). Microsoft Q&A is now the single question and answer destination for all Azure products and services.
Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors
Last week we announced the launch of Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors who are a global Community of student leaders that help their peers learn about things they care about most, from social impact to new technologies. Ambassadors get a first look at new Microsoft technologies, gain leadership skills and receive mentoring from professionals in the industry. Adding to this announcement Microsoft Learn now has a new home just for educators and students.
We've partnered with universities to create new learning paths based on their popular courses in data science, cloud development, and AI engineering, all tailored for the students that want to build in-demand job skills and educators that want to teach them:
- Carnegie Mellon University: Intro to Cloud Administration and Intro to Cloud Development
- Oxford University: Cloud & Artificial Intelligence: Principles of Edge Computing
- University of California at Berkeley: Foundations of Data Science
We want your feedback
We hope you take advantage of all the free training launched and enjoy Learn TV. We welcome your feedback as to what you'd like to see next.
