Leadership by Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools®

How can we grow into strong and inclusive leaders?

Ask your students to describe a leader. Do they use words like “best” and “strong”? It’s important our students know there are a variety of valuable traits that describe a leader. Great leaders work with others to spread a passion and reach a common goal. They make sure everyone is included in the process, and the outcome.

In these lessons, students identify traits of different leaders in their life and in the world. They work on leadership skills like communication and problem-solving. Students learn there are various leadership styles. They recognize the importance of having diverse representation in leadership roles. Through this learning, students will have a chance to analyze, connect with, and reflect on leadership experiences.

Ultimately, students gain the confidence and skills they need to grow into confident and inclusive leaders.
