Validate and prepare to share

Completed

A working solution and a finished solution are not the same thing. Before sharing a solution, take time to verify the results, refine the details, and prepare it for broader use.

Validate before you trust it

Two questions are worth asking every time.

  • Does the data look right? Spot-check the results against known information. If the solution says there are 47 AI initiatives, verify that number against the source data.

  • Does the solution meet the requirements? A solution can look polished and still miss a requirement. Check that an initiative captures a name, an owner, a status, and an expected outcome, and that leaders can filter by owner or status.

Treat Copilot Code's output as a draft until it has been reviewed. Validation builds trust, and a few minutes of checking can prevent larger problems later.

Refine the last details

Layout, labels, and wording matter. Small changes can make a solution easier to understand and easier to use. If a column heading is unclear or a filter is difficult to find, describe the change in plain language and review the updated result.

Prepare for broader use

Once a solution works for you, consider how others will use it.

Projects are saved and keep their version history, so you can reopen a solution, refine it, and build on previous work instead of starting over. You can also export a project or connect a GitHub account as the solution grows.

A GitHub account isn't required to use Copilot Code. However, when a solution grows beyond a single creator and needs collaboration, version control, testing, deployment, or ongoing maintenance, GitHub helps teams manage that work at scale.
