Introduction
Azure Network Watcher provides a suite of tools to monitor, diagnose, view metrics, and enable or disable logs for Azure IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) resources. Network Watcher enables you to monitor and diagnose the network health of IaaS products like virtual machines (VMs), virtual networks (VNets), application gateways, and load balancers. You can use Network Watcher to monitor the connections of these IaaS products to resources in Azure such as service endpoints as well as on-premises and other resources.
You are in IT Operations at Tailwind Traders. You're responsible for managing and monitoring the health of the Azure IaaS resources in your network environment. You need to be able to monitor, diagnose, view metrics, and enable or disable logs for those resources. Having investigated Azure Network Watcher, you decide that it has the tools you need to monitor and repair the network health of your network resources.
Learning objectives
In this module, you learn how to use the following Azure Network Watcher functionality to monitor and diagnose Azure networks:
- Azure Network Watcher topology
- Connection Monitor
- IP flow verify and NSG diagnostics
- Packet capture
