Exercise - Create a work cell for subcontracting

Before you begin this exercise, you must have completed the previous exercise, Set up a default vendor and create a purchase agreement.
Scenario
In this exercise you will create a work cell for subcontracting. To configure a work cell as subcontracted, a resource of the vendor type needs to be created and associated with the work cell (resource group).
- Go to Project management and accounting > Periodic > Project resources > Populate project resources across all companies.
- When the Populate project resources across all companies slide out opens, select OK.
- Close all pages.
- Go to Production control > Setup > Resources > Resources.
- Select New.
- In the Resource field, enter GTL-Sub1.
- In the Description field, enter Subcontractor 1.
- In the Type field, select Vendor.
- Select Save.
- Close the page.
- Go to Production control > Setup > Resources > Resource groups.
- Select New.
- In the Resource group field, enter eBookSub.
- In the Description field, enter eBooksubcontractor.
- Under the Site field, enter or select site 1.
- In the General tab, select Yes in the Work cell field.
- In the Input warehouse field, enter or select 11.
- In the Input location field, enter or select 11.
- In the Output warehouse field, enter or select 12-801.
- In the Output location field, enter or select 801.
- Expand the Calendars FastTab.
- Select Add.
- In the Calendar field, enter or select Production.
- Collapse the Calendars section.
- Expand the Resources tab.
- Select Add.
- In the Resource field, enter or select 8821.
- Collapse the Resources section.
- Expand the Work cell capacity tab.
- Select Add.
- In the Production flow model field, enter or select Mid-Range Speaker 2 Flow Model.
- In the Capacity period field, select Standard workday.
- Set the Average throughput quantity to 100.00.
- In the Unit field, enter pcs.
- Select Save.
- Close all pages.
